I absolutely love the sea but tsunamis are scary

There’s a number of vids of these horseshoe shaped inlets where the water had nowhere to go but up. I’m wondering if disaster planning engineers recognized this possibility and had implemented mandatory evacuation distances before March 2011. There seems to be so many places that didn’t have such an order because of the tsunami walls put up. I wouldn’t put all my trust in the cement structures anymore after that day.

The water never receded first, the wave was not at all high or powerful. This was a baby tsunami. We like the big ones where you can get video of bodies flailing and disappearing in the torrent. It is not a notable tsunami unless you have corpses floating in the aftermath.

I'm surprise that this doesn't happen to the Pacific coasts from Washington to Mexico more often. The San Francisco bay area and inland areas to Stockton to Sacramento will be vulnerable if we have a 9.0 earthquake off of northern Califonia coast and a column of water 100 feet or more would comes ashore; it would penetrate as far as inland to the San Joaquin valley to Sacremento and Stockton due to low sea level elevations. Millions of deaths would occur if this occured at night.

Look at 1:58 the stone structure on the left most of the screen, now compare it to 0:10 and notice the people down there on the bright. Incredibly frightening

The hight difference of the water is very noticeable here at 10:26 where the water on where the man was at reached only a story high while the coast guard building that we could see it briefly at 10:27 with those 2 tall buildings the water reached 3 stories high. This is because of that narrow straight at the bay that could be seen in the video and also because the water at the coast guard building raises so fast that the water in the bay where the man was located couldn't filled fast enough to reach the same hight and the large amount of the water spile into the city centre where it could be seen on another video which recorded on the mountain on the ANNnewsCH.

To this day I cannot believe this happened the tenacity of the Japanese people and their resilience Is amazing, good job our Japanese mates from Australia.

Did anybody catch this where the tsunami flooded the coast guard building till the 3rd floor while in other places the tsunami only flooded the first floor? This is because at 6:03 that you can see where the water at the left side is not as high as the right side of the bay is because of that narrow space and also is because the tsunami rises so fast at the coast guard location that the bay at the port or harbor location where the water can't filled fast enough so the hight difference is very noticeable. And also duo to the narrow bay the tsunami energy intensifies and last longer because the tsunami merge into one single stream into the city bay.

Why did it take 6 and 1/2 minutes into this video to hear tsunami siren go off? Wasn't it kind of apparent by people who are on the shoreline? Isn't there some kind of reporting system?

Why Can't Japanese photographers A: Hold the camera still? B: Maintain the FRAME on the subject? C: When we see people running from the water the Photographer will point their lens anywhere but there. We never know if they escape. D: When a large structure is about to get the wave they point the Camera at the sky, the ground or maybe just waving it about. E: Lot of laughing as the City dies. What's that about?
